Lead – Digital Content and Marketing

Join the team at the Centre for Eye Research Australia as a Lead-Digital Content and Marketing and become part of one of the world’s leading eye research institutes. CERA conducts research to discover the causes of eye disease, find new ways to detect and prevent vision loss and develop new treatments to save and restore sight.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, Campaigns and Advocacy and part of a small, dedicated team, the Lead – Digital Content and Marketing is responsible for producing content for and managing CERA’s website and social media channels.

About the role

You will:

  • Proactively manage all content on the CERA website and social media channels, ensuring it is high quality, accurate, engaging and timely.
  • Manage end-to-end planning and implementation of paid digital media campaigns, including fundraising and donor acquisition campaigns and ongoing management of a Google Grant and Adwords account with an external agency.
  • Work in partnership with CERA’s Fundraising Specialist to develop a digital fundraising strategy to encourage online giving.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong understanding of website design and development principles, including a working knowledge of web accessibility standards, content strategy development, and user experience.
  • Experience planning and coordinating digital marketing and fundraising campaigns and materials for paid, earned, and owned channels. Knowledge of SEO and remarketing and basic principles of Google Ads and Google Grant management.
  • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills, and ability to write compelling, engaging and effective website content.
